February 12th 2010 @ The Albany Theatre, Deptford

The Albany Theatre in Deptford hosts a variety of exciting events, ranging from music and theatre to comedy and spoken word, and the programme for the next few weeks does not disappoint. With many performances scheduled for the upcoming month, be sure to give the theatre a visit.

One performance we will not be missing is from Kate Tempest, who is rapper, lyricist and poet whose influences come from a range of sources, spanning from William Shakespeare to Sylvia Plath to Michael Jackson and the Wu Tang Clan. She was born in South East London in 1986 and has been rapping since she was 16. Her performances have been described as ‘epic’ and ‘inspirational’, her delivery commanding and thought provoking. She has recently released her debut spoken word album, and is recording material with her band, Sound of Rum, which will eventually form her first full length record due to be released early 2010.

Tempest will be appearing at the Albany Theatre on Friday, February 12th at 8pm. Tickets will sell fast, so visit the Albany website, or give them a call to reserve your place. It is sure to be an amazing night!
